Shireen replaced by Haifa Wahbi

Egyptian producer Nasr Mahrous is said to be planning to get back at Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab, whom he is facing ongoing disputes with.

Mahrous is reaching an end to the negotiations concerning a contract between his company Free Music and Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi.

It is said that Haifa is expected to sign the contract during her next visit to Cairo, where she is scheduled to hold a number of concerts for Christmas and New Years Eve.

Mahrous is hopeful that all will go as planned and Haifa releases her next album under the production of his company, after she announced that she will not be renewing her contract with Rotana.

Mahrous has decided to give Haifa a number of songs that were originally to be sung by Shireen before she began problems with the company. This step is considered a big slap in the face for Shireen and it is not known how she will react to it.

Recently, Shireen had decided to make amends with Mahrous and the Egyptian Musician Association, and announced that she has already resolved her disputes with the Association and will make amends with Nasr, but on her own terms.

Sherine had been paying a high price for her previous decision to challenge the Association and Nasr.

Shireen described the Association’s decision to ban her as “worse than death” and she could not go on in such a position, fearing it would destroy her career.

Recently, head of the Association, Hassan Abu Soud, sent a fierce warning to Shireen to stop performing.

Shireen had opposed the decision to ban her from singing in Egypt and began perpetrating as a guest at entertainment events, giving performances after the audience repeatedly requested her to do so.

The Association warned Shireen that if she continued performing legal action would be taken against her.

Shireen was banned from performing in Egypt after Abu Soud announced the decision at a recent board of directors meeting. The decision was sent to all institutions and companies that specialize in audio and visual entertainment in Egypt and abroad, including concert sponsors.

The decision was prompted by the singer’s refusal to allow the Association’s committee to investigate the multiple accusations filed against her by record producer Nasr.
